What is “made-to-order” and why should I like it?
Made-to-order means exactly that. We cut and sew your individual shirt when it is ordered. You should like this for several reasons:
1. You have an opportunity to personalize your order by choosing a fabric, sleeve length etc., meaning the odds of you running into another shirt like it are slim (as is the shirt itself).
2. We will continue to add new shirts to the mix but your favorite style will always be available so you can order it in new fabrics season after season.
3. We can keep our prices competitive by cutting the overhead of mass production and storage.
4. You are an individual and we don’t want you to dress like a clone.

How does it work?
It’s easy: Choose a shirt style, choose a fabric, choose a size and place your order. Our tailors will start cutting and sewing your shirt right away. Before you know it, your handsomely-packaged Filius shirt arrives (with its own walnut hanger!).

How do I know the fabric I choose will work with the shirt?
As much as we admire and appreciate your brain, it isn't needed for this decision. All Filius fabrics are hand-selected to work with all Filius styles. Unless otherwise noted, all fabrics are 100% Japanese cotton.

It’s hot. Can I have my shirt made with short sleeves?
Yep. All Filius shirts can be ordered in long or short sleeves.

How do I figure out my size?
Filius shirts are slim-cut but comfortable (you will still be able to lift your arms…ahem). Check our size chart here and use it to measure against one of your favorite shirts to make sure you choose the right size.

What’s with all the white shirts?
Well, the white shirt is the best way to show the design differences between our shirts, and since you can order our shirts in any available fabric, we think your choice should be made on architecture and not on print or color. We also happen to think that there is nothing more chic and versatile than a pressed white shirt (with a wrinkled one a close second). Nobody said white shirts had to be stodgy did they?

Do you ship Internationally?
You bet! While international shipping is not yet automated on the site (stay tuned...), we are happy to take your order via email. Write us here with your shipping address and the items you would like to purchase and we will get back to you for shipping rate approval.

What’s the turn-around time? When do I get my made-to-order shirt?
We ask that you allow 5 business days for your shirt to be made so that our tailors can properly hand-finish your garment. Shipping times take effect after this period. In-stock accessories ship within 2 business days of order.

I have long gorilla arms… got anything for me?
While we are not set up for full customizing of our shirts quite yet, we can make some adjustments based on your needs…but it will cost you! Contact us here for a quote.

What are your return policies?
We want you to be happy, really happy. If there is a problem with your shirt, we are glad to fix it for you at no extra cost. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for more details about our return policy.
